A story of people, courage, and opportunity
The story of Teige Gruppen begins in 1914–1915, when the fishing vessels Delfin and Kaston were built by Karl Teige. From an open fishing boat and the rich herring fisheries of the time grew the foundation for what is today a diverse business group.
During the Second World War, values such as courage, responsibility, and endurance were put to the ultimate test. The pioneer of the Teige family, Terje Teige, carried out more than fifty dangerous missions as a pilot on MTB boats across the North Sea in the fight for Norway’s freedom. His experiences at sea, and the responsibility he assumed at a young age, laid the groundwork for what we now refer to as “good instinct” – the ability to make sound decisions even when conditions are demanding.
This legacy is not only part of our history; it remains a vital part of how we think and work today.

Teige Gruppen has always been on the move. From fisheries and shipping to today’s ventures across several industries, we have been driven by creativity, adaptability, and a forward-looking mindset. We have built, developed, and invested – with a long-term perspective and respect for both people and nature.
In 2018, Teige Rederi was established as a modern continuation of a long maritime tradition. At the same time, the group has continued to evolve in new directions, always grounded in our core values.
